The biggest Legend that walked the face of the earth is turning 92 this year. Yes our beloved Madiba is celebrating his b-day this month. So in conjunction with this momentous event we at Babylon decided to do a charity drive of our own. Madiba has given so much and it’s time for us to carry forward that wonderful giving spirit.

So we decided on a concept called 67!
Now we call upon all our loyal patrons to please assist us with this worthy cause. We need you to give something to the value of 67.Whether it is non perishables to the amount of R67, a toy, blanket or clothes to that value. Or even if you give 67 plates of food to the needy people around you, or 67 hugs to someone that really needs it. Or give 67 of your time to the SPCA.
Whatever you can think of that amounts to 67-please, please, please do it.

Any items that you bought you can drop off at Babylon for the next three Saturdays, where we will then deliver it to the different homes and organizations that help take care of those in need.
We will also be drawing a name of one of those people that have contributed to this charity from either the photos mailed or from your name given at the reception at Babylon when dropping of your gift. The winner will receive the title of VIP Personality of the month, and will receive 10 VIP tickets for every Saturday for a month, where that person can entertain his friends in the
VIP section next to the dance floor that will be exclusively theirs to use for those nights. We will also give them two bottles of Champaign every night, to make the party even better.

So let’s show the world how we as a gay community can come together and do something wonderful to help those less fortunate than ourselves. Please boys and girls, 67 of anything isn’t much, but for someone else it might just mean a meal or a bit of warmth.

So how does one enter? This weekend and next weekend you can enter at the club. We will have a camera ready from 9 – 10:30 to take pictures. These will be posted onto one of the “Event Pages” on facebook.

On Saturday the 31 July the Semi Final heat will be held, live in the club with the top 25 contestants.

Out of this selection 15 names & photo’s will be posted onto the facebook page and the 10 contestants that receives the most online votes will be notified on the Friday to be ready for the final competition on Sunday the 8th August 2010 when the winner will be chosen by a panel of judges.
